Ingredients
- 1 box Cafe du Monde beignet mix
- 7 fluid ounces water
- cotton seed oil (for frying)
- flour (to cover flat surface)
- powdered sugar (topping for beignets)
Directions
- Combine 2 cups of beignet mix and water; mix with a spoon to create dough
- On a floured surface, flatten/roll dough to 1/8 inch thickness and cut into 2 1/4 in squares
- Heat 2 inches of oil in skillet to 370°F
- Fry squares of dough (baste both sides) until puffy and golden brown; drain well on paper towel
- Cover generously with powdered sugar and enjoy!
